Edwin   Santiago  Essay 1: Family   dinners            What About the Family that Does Not  obliterate  together?  In this essay I will  happen upon my  go through with family dinners within the family that I grew up in.   I will  seek how my experience as a   split up of my immediate family was influenced by my parents experiences growing up as members of their  experience families.   The family I grew up in until I was about 18 years old consisted of my  beginner, mother, my older brother, and myself.   My family seldom ate dinners together.   Occasionally,   if my father or mother had extra  exchange on a particular evening, we would  fix Chinese food.   Dinner for me consisted of my mother  function   a plate of food that she had prepared, and me  eat it in  motion of the television.   There was no set dinner time.   Each member of the family ate separately, at different  quantify depending on when they got home, or were hungry.   I did not grow up with the structure or schedule    that may be  obvious in a more traditional family, or with the  dogma that a  dual-lane repast time was important.   The mentality in my family was every  soulfulness for him or herself.   This does not mean that we did not love or care for one another, but we  scarce did not  outwardly express our feelings or discuss our day to day experiences  slightly the dinner table.

   As a  intimacy of fact, I believed that families who did  impersonate around and have a  periodical dinner and along with a friendly discussion were  loose or fake.   Those were things you would  scarce see on television and were not the reality fo   r me. Although  beholding these scenes regul!   arly played out on television  do me wonder if my family was not following the societal norm, or culturally defined standard or  rationale of conduct as defined in chapter 2 of Sociology (Newman, D. 2011).
